Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

1. Who we are

These Terms & Conditions are between you and Fellowship Theological Seminary ("the Seminary", "we", "us"). By creating an account, using the student portal, or purchasing a program, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

The Seminary provides online theological education — including the Bachelor of Science in Religious Studies and other certificate, master's, and doctoral programs — through a student portal with course materials, coursework schedules, documents, and progress tracking. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access the portal and course materials for your own study, within the program you have enrolled in.

We work to keep the portal available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must be of legal age to enter into these terms, or have authority to bind the organization you represent.

4. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service. This includes, without limitation:

  • Using the service for any unlawful purpose, fraud, or spam;
  • Infringing intellectual property rights of the Seminary or others;
  • Introducing malware, probing or testing vulnerabilities, or scraping the service;
  • Reverse engineering, reselling, or redistributing course materials;
  • Sharing your account access with others or circumventing technical limits.

5. Intellectual property

The Seminary retains all ownership of the service and its intellectual property, including software, course content, documentation, and branding. Course materials are provided for your personal study only.

You retain ownership of the work you submit (essays, discussion posts, research papers). You grant the Seminary a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the educational service, including review and grading by faculty.

6. Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms). Tuition installment plans renew monthly until cancelled. You may cancel a plan at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations of our policies. When access ends, your right to use the portal ends; academic records may be retained as required for accreditation and legal purposes.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill). Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

9. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Questions about these terms can be sent to the Seminary office through the contact details on our website.
